About Me
Biography

In all my years I’ve always enjoyed writing. It was a passion for me since I was a kid, the ability to convey images of the mind and passionate feelings of the heart? GREAT I thought, what a wonderful way to express them.

I found out later that getting those portrayals accurate wasn’t all that easy and being dyslexic, I imagine that didn’t help matters much. But I persevered, I kept on going with it. My first little story, was untitled (as most always are) and I wrote it when I was seven. I actually wrote it visually in my mind to begin with, played it over and over again and loved the story. That was when I wrote it down. Three pages in big green felt tip, but it was an achievement for me!

Later on in high school I re-wrote an old book. I was quite excited at the chance to write something and show it to a larger audience than my computer screen. So that was a really fun idea. Shame my teacher said I’d never pass English at GCSE and that the story had no bones, it was poorly written, etc, etc.

Once I left high school I was glad to be gone. I went to college, where I met my mentor John Redgate. He was a college lecturer and he’s just one of those people you get on really well with from the get go, because you both see life in the same sort of way. Well that was John and he’s still a great friend today, without him I wouldn’t be writing this.

Divorce at the age of six made things harder, even though that's nothing new these days. But now I'm twenty two and I've already done a great deal with my life, yet I still want to do more.

However, for me it's not just the succession or the want to make money (Though its part and parcel of what I enjoy doing) it’s also about delivering a vision. Its to change minds, its to make people think about themselves and the world around them differently. It’s in my fiction, very subtle in Storms, but it’s there and less subtle yet still not blatant, in The Voices of Light and Dark (The Volad).

Above all other things I want to be able to make enough money to help those who can’t help themselves, or are disregarded by society. With political correctness I think we’ve all gone mad, thinking were doing the right thing from one day to the next. But really, do we? I can’t say the worlds not changed over the past twenty years, the UK alone has a highly prosperous economy, lest we forget. But I’m not sure attitudes towards particular groups have changed. We just act as if they’ve changed. In the past year (2008) many political changes have highlighted this lack of attention, China Zimbabwe and Tibet. I have no idea what he future will hold, but it will be interesting to see what comes of these things.

So my mission now for me personally, is to turn success into change and in so doing, create a difference for those people who have nothing and expect nothing.
